On 08/11/05 at approximately 0121 hours, DFC Todd L. Fleenor observed a vehicle traveling on MD 249 at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle turned off the headlights and attempted to avoid detection eventually turning into the parking lot of Little Flower School. The driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended by DFC Fleenor. The driver, John Robert Gough, 36 years old of Leonardtown, was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, attempting to elude by failing to stop, driving on revoked license and privilege, and speed greater than reasonable.
