Another Motorcyclist Dies on So. Md. Roads


HUNTINGTOWN, Md. - Another motorcyclist died on southern Maryland roads over the weekend.

On Saturday June 16 at 6:42 p.m., a 2005 Yamaha VMAX motorcycle, driven by Sterling C. Klischer, 48 of Elkridge, was traveling north on Md. Rt. 261 in the area of Quail Drive in Huntingtown. Police say the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle head on, a 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, being driven by Philip B. Proctor, 53 of Chesapeake Beach.

Klischer was transported via Maryland State Police Helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Proctor did not suffer any injuries in the crash.

Cpl. Anthony Moschetto of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office investigated the accident.
