Snow Storm Updates


CALIFORNIA, Md. (January 25, 2011) — The National Weather Service is still predicting a snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches tonight. The temperature is 35 degrees with light rain in the Patuxent River NAS area, as of 6 p.m. A Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect until 4 a.m. tomorrow morning, although snow is expected to move out of the area by midnight tonight.

The Snow Emergency Plan for St. Mary's County was put into effect at 5 p.m., according to the Maryland State Police.

The Capital Clubhouse, located at 3033 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf, will close at 9 p.m. today due to forecasted inclement weather. The following activities have been canceled for today: Adult hockey league game (8:45 p.m.) and Soccer Pickup (8:45 p.m.)
