COREY JON BACON

Corey Jon Bacon, 26, of Winter Haven, died in an electrical accident Monday, March 11, 2002, in Leesburg.

He was a native of Leominster, Mass. He was a four-year veteran of the Winter Haven Police Department. He came to Florida in 1998 from Maryland to work for the Winter Haven Police Department. He completed his basic law enforcement training at South Florida Community College. He served as a patrol officer and a field training officer. In February 2001, he received the DEUCE award from MADD for his aggressive enforcement of DUI laws. He had many letters of commendation from citizens of the community for outstanding service. He was a dedicated, energetic, and professional police officer.

He is survived by his father and mother, Earl Walker Bacon and Deborah Ann Bacon of Westminster, Mass.; his grandmother, Katherine Andrews of Englewood; a brother, Derek Bacon of California, Md., and his fiancˇ, Jody Lott of
Winter Haven,We will all miss him dearly!!
