John "Buzz" Koterba, 55 of Mechanicsville died Sept 21, 2005, at his home.

A son, husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his mother, Elizabeth May "Betty" Armstrong of Leonardtown; his wife of 33 years, Donna Marie Koterba of Mechanicsville; his daughter Jennifer Lynn Burch of Raleigh NC; his son-in-law, William Michael Burch of Raleigh; his grandson, Mason Alexander Burch of Raleigh; his sister Kathryn "Kitty" Leggett of Willards; his brother-in-law, Roger Leggett of Willards; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John E."Butch" Armstrong; and his sister, May "Betsy" Koterba.

Born near Philadelphia, he and his wife relocated to Mechanicsville in 1975. There he raised his daughter and touched the lives of many individuals. He will be missed.

Mr. Koterba served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam and later became a firefighter for Prince George's County and was stationed at Brandywine Fire Department. He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Rolling Thunder Virgina Chapter 3 in Dumfries, VA. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a celebration of Mr. Koterba's life from 1pm to 5pm. Oct 22 at the Brandywine Fire Department located on route 381 in Brandywine.
