Christopher Dickinson Sheffe, 74, of La Plata and formerly Bryans Road, MD, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Friday, October 21, 2016. Born on 13, December, 1941 in Teaneck, NJ Chris was a life-long servant of his fellow man. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps for four years, to include a tour in Vietnam, and then in the DC Fire Department for over 31 years, earning the Gold Medal for Valor. He was also very active in many youth and community programs throughout Southern Maryland.

His greatest service was as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Chris is survived by his wife, Diane Irene Pierson; daughters Christine Owens and husband Dan; Julie Perrotta and husband Dan; his son Richard and his wife Jennie; and his grandchildren Josh, Jacob, Nathan, Abbie and Sarah Owens; Luke, Kelsey, Ashley and Emily Sheffe; and Katelynn and Dominic Perrotta.

Viewings to honor Chris will be held on Wednesday, October 26, from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM, and from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Grace Church 13000 Zekiah Place Waldorf, MD 20603 with a Memorial Service will follow at 5:30. Interment burial at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland will be held at a later date.
