Richard Kerr Estes, 95, of Benedict, MD passed away at his residence in Benedict, MD on March 16, 2018. Richard was born on April 19, 1922 to the late Clay Warren Estes and the late Mary Schroell Estes in Washington, DC. Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed art and music. Richard worked in Drafting for the Federal Government until retiring in 1978.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Robert Estes. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Estes; sons, Mark Estes (Charlotte) of Waldorf, MD, John Estes (Lisa) of Accokeek, MD; daughters, Danita Stokes of Roanoke, VA, Lisa Beaver (Robert) of Kansas; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends for Richard's Visitation on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 5-8pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Prayers will be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11am at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 7185 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, MD 20612. Interment will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11am at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall, MD.
