Frederick Fairfax Smith Jr., 92, of Lexington Park, MD passed away on December 6, 2018 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center in Great Mills, MD. Frederick was the son of the late Frederick Fairfax Smith, Sr. and the late Margaret Florence Brown Smith. He was born in Baltimore, MD on November 21, 1926.

Frederick joined the U.S. Navy at 18 years of age, and was a corpsman during WWII. He worked as a motorcycle policeman for Baltimore City and met the love of his life, Shirley Estelle Talbert at his 23rd birthday celebration. They were married June 24, 1950. To this union, one daughter was born. Fredrick transferred to Baltimore County where he continued his police career. In 1966 he began his final career with the US Marshall's Office, retiring in 1976.

He also was a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge, Towson, MD for over 60 years as well as a Shriner. Both Frederick and Shirley possessed an amazing love for their Jack Russell dogs, especially Molly. They spent many wonderful days crabbing with Rose and Bill in the Patuxent River, dancing at Sids, and more recently having a loving church family at St. Annes Anglican Catholic Church with Bishop Bill McLean.

In addition to his parents, Frederick was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley Talbert Smith of 51 years. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia A. Frey (Tom); grandchildren, Kimberly Frey, Michelle L. Pett, Jennifer Fenwick, Christopher Frey (Deserae); great grandchildren, Shelby Griffin, Devin Tippett, Alexus Fenwick, Antonio Fenwick, Camille Frey, Alyssa Frey and Nolan Frey.

Family will receive friends for Frederick's visitation on Monday, December 10th from 5pm to 8pm with Prayers at 7pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 11 at 1pm at Immanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, 1509 Glencoe Road, Sparks Baltimore County, MD 21152.
