George Michael Rose, 76, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on October 19, 2019 in Mechanicsville. Born on July 18, 1943 in Washington, D.C. he was the son of the late Harry Wilson Rose and the late Julia Kogak Rose.

George met and married his wife Doris, and they were blessed with three children and eight grandchildren. George was a wonderful provider and patriarch of his family. He honorably served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. George had a distinguished 48-year U.S. government career and an additional six years with a local government contractor prior to retiring in 2017. He made many life-long friendships over the years and he will be missed.

George treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed barbecuing, fishing and was an avid Washington Nationals fans.

George is survived by his wife, Doris Mae Kohansby Rose, his children, Pastor Edward T. Rose of Pennsylvania, Karen Elizabeth Rose Boyd of Mechanicsville and David Matthew Rose; his brother, Larry Dean Rose of Maryland and eight grandchildren.

A Life Celebration Visitation for George will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 10:15am at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
