Karen Ann Redman Riggs, 78, of Waldorf, Maryland died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 10, 2020 at her home. Born on September 3, 1941 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John Estes Redman and Kathleen Hargett Redman. A homemaker and mom, Mrs. Riggs enjoyed playing blackjack, gardening and yard work, building and bricklaying, and spending time at the cottage in Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Riggs; daughters Shelby Riggs and Kari Hamilton; siblings John Redman Jr., Coyal Redman and Mary Hall. Mrs. Riggs is survived by her children Chris Riggs and his wife Sue, Laurie McClure and her husband Ronnie, Amanda Bartley and her husband Randy; son-in-law Scott Hamilton; grandchildren David Riggs, Samantha Turner, Jamie, Allie, and Kari Dunlap, Jimmy and Danny McClure, Sydney and Sierra Hamilton, Ryan and Brandon Johnson; great grandchildren Jayden, Kaylan, Malachi, Michael and Rhett; siblings Gail Nairn, Kathie McGuire, Charles Redman, Gordon Redman, and Vivian Shanahan, .

Visitation on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2PM to 4PM with Services at 4PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will take place at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
