In 1976, the family moved from Cheverly to Calvert County on the Patuxent River where he and Barbara could enjoy one of their favorite activities, water skiing and exploring the river. Allen also was a longtime fan of Nascar and loved the "Skins." He loved tinkering in the garage and always whistled while he worked. But most of all Allen loved spending time with Barbara and their family. He loved his special time with Barbara watching the wheel every evening. Allen enjoyed watching the critters in the yard and Sheila "chasing" the bunnies.
