William Leonard Burch, 86, of LaPlata, MD passed away on October 22, 2020 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Center.

Born in Leonardtown, MD on June 24, 1934 to the late Joseph M. Burch and the late Bertha M. Burch, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Burch; brothers, Joseph Burch, Richard Burch and Franklin Burch; and sisters, Marie Stansbury, Mary Catherine Dean and Agnes Wedding. Leonard is survived by his brother, Delmas Burch; sisters, Shirley Thomas, Betty St. Clair, Elaine Wenk and Henrieta Little.

Leonard proudly served in the Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was a carpenter and member of Local #132 Carpenter's Union. Leonard loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. He took great pleasure in the company of his friends, was greatly loved by his family and will be missed by all the many lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 5PM to 7PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA (211 St. Mary's Ave., LaPlata, MD); where a Funeral Service will also be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11AM; Interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Rd., Waldorf, MD).
