Kennedy Center, Washington, DC – Eight talented youth from the Northeast Performing Arts Group will be burning up the stage in Debbie Allen’s upcoming performance of “Alex in Wonderland” at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Having faced the stiff competition of more than 1,500 other metropolitan area youth, these young people were hand selected for their exceptional technique and high energy routines.
This lively interpretation of “Alice in Wonderland” from a modern-day boy’s point of view will be held at the Kennedy Center from April 6 to April 15, 2007. Bringing down the house will be: Arrington Lassiter, age 14; Daniel Moore, age 18; Xavier Perkins, age 9; Malik and Mekiel Simms, age 11; Parris Lacey, age 17; China Simms, age 8; and Jrew Mackey, age 7.
Bravo and Congrats young people for a job well done! Kudos to Rita Jackson and the Northeast Performing Arts Group for 28 years of providing exposure to the arts for young people “East of the River” and making at-risk youth into talented performers.
