The St. Mary’s County Department of Aging Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) has coordinated with VISTA volunteers from the Division of Community Services to provide assistance in the local community on Monday, January 15, 2007. This first-time service event will honor the legacy and message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”
Volunteers will be performing a variety of jobs such as cleaning, shopping, and reading aloud to adult residents at the Spring Valley Apartments in Lexington Park on Monday, January 15, 2007, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Lunch and all necessary supplies will be provided by the management for the volunteers.
