The Coalition of Veterans Organization is seeking the support of veterans and others to meet in Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 to present veteran concerns to legislators.

The main focus is to lobby for full and assured funding for veterans healthcare and benefits.

This includes the push to change legislation that only provides 2 years of "free" healthcare for veterans who serve in Iraq/Afghanistan and others that currently serve.

Additional funding for all states to assist homeless veterans

Better accountability and execution of funding earmarked for mental health strategic planning. Review the Government Accounting Office reports GAO 1119T, GAO -07-66, and GAO 06-958

Healthcare benefits for Filipino veterans who served as Allies in WW II but have been denied service for the past 60 years.

Funding to create more programs for women veterans that currently serve.

Veterans and families interested in supporting these issues should contact their legislators and ask them to provide a response for the GAO reports and tell them veterans serving in combat now need more than 2 years or 5 years for healthcare. Tell them that veterans need assured and mandatory funding for healthcare now and in the future.
