Civista’s Mass Casualty Disaster Organization Team will hold a Mass Trauma Disaster DRILL on October 28 from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The exercise will be based on the scenario of a mass trauma disaster. To preserve the integrity of the drill the actual scenario will not be released in advance. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Charles County Emergency Management System, and Volunteer EMS – Fire and Rescue are also participating.

Volunteers are needed to serve as disaster “patients” during the drill hours. Participation may be during the entire drill time or for shorter time spans, depending on the volunteer’s availability. If you are willing to assist with this please call 301-609-4195 as soon as possible to register your participation for October 28. Please specify the specific times you can be available when you call. High school students who volunteer will receive a letter of participation and certification of community service hours.

There will be many emergency vehicles and first responders present in and around La Plata on October 28 during the late afternoon/early evening and the public is reminded that this exercise is a drill.
