All blood types are important. If your blood type does not appear today, your donation is still badly needed in order to treat local patients who depend on that type. This list refl ects those types which have fallen to an unsafe level. A safe, desired blood supply is 5-7 days worth of any given blood type, in order to meet local patient need and maintain an adequate reserve in the event of an emergency.

The following are the blood types that are low as of November 5, 2008:

Ideal Supply 5-7 days

O Positive - 0.5 days
O Negative - 0.6 days
A Negative - 1.1 days
