Wolf’s Open Blues Jams!

NEW! Every Wednesday: Beach Cove Restaurant, 8416 Bayside Rd., Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732, (443) 550-3342, 8 pm, free!

Great dance music, stage, nice wooden dance floor, newly remodeled/reopened, great food, large portions, full menu including entrees, appetizers, salads & desserts! Wednesday nights: food & drink specials!

Come on out and support this blues jam and help make it a success!

Joining me will be "Hot Rods & Old Gas" featuring Andy Poxon (15 yr old phenom), Tom Maxwell, Zach Sweeney & Mike O'Donnell - 3 guitars!

Great blues talent! If you haven't seen these young hot shot guitarists yet, you're in for a treat!

“The combination is particularly potent …” – Washington Post.

“This band will put a smile on your face that will last all night.” – Steve Kierns, Blues Nation Forum, www.mojoworkin.com.

"Andy is a 15 year old singer / guitar player of enormous ability. A big mature voice emanates from a pale blue eyed boy with a huge red head afro - you can't believe how strong that voice is. And he is an absolute wiz on guitar. The combination of the vocals and guitar is as good as it gets." – Steve Kierns, Blues Nation Forum, www.mojoworkin.com.

"You'll be amazed at Zach Sweeney pickin' on guitar for all the world like Danny Gatton.” – Steve Kierns, Blues Nation Forum, www.mojoworkin.com.

Zach Sweeney, “… A+ student of the blues-rock school of Eric Clapton, Danny Gatton and Jimmy Page ….” – Washington Post.

“Tom is a 19 year old guitarist/singer … with a mature Jimmy Vaughn-like approach to the guitar. And his slide work is sweetly exquisite, reminiscent of Duane Allman.” – Steve Kierns, Blues Nation Forum, www.mojoworkin.com.

Open Blues Jam Format: The host band usually plays first, in the middle, at the end, or some combination thereof, and then the jammers from the sign-up sheet get up. I've been running open blues jams for years and know how to keep things going and keep the musicians & audience happy. Great way to hear local blues talent, and you never know who's going to show up: sometimes out-of-towners and touring musicians. Even prominent national acts have stopped by to jam at local blues jams including Guitar Shorty (Beach Cove), Jimmy Carpenter & Eugene Hideaway Bridges (Zoo Bar), and Grammy Nominees Tab Benoit and Steve Riley (Bangkok Blues)! Like I say, "you never know WHO'S going to show up!" Of course it's also a great way to connect with other blues-lovers and musicians. Great dance music too! ***Support your local blues jams AND the establishments that host the jams too; come hungry & thirsty to ensure the jams keep going.*** See below for links to articles about blues jams.
