According to their website, "The mission of the Solomons Business Association is to promote economic development in the Solomons Island area through working with other merchants, civic and fraternal organizations, county, state and federal government to obtain ideas and funding which will develop and support business growth while maintaining ecological and environmental stability."
Southern Maryland Trails provides a lovely guidebook that allows both natives and visitors to the area to explore and enjoy southern Maryland's natural and cultural treasures. The guidebook offers you two different themed tours: the "Fossils and Farmscapes Ramble" or the "Barnwood and Beach Glass Loop." Both tours offer the funseeker a wide array of farms; local artists & galleries; restaurants & eateries; and gardens, natural areas and praks with which to visit and enjoy. The program was developed as a means to assist and promote farmers and related businesses as Southern Maryland diversifies and transitions away from its tobacco-dependent economy.
