The Time Is Now To Seek Funds for College

'Tis the season to start looking for funds to pay for your child's college tuition for the 2007-2008 school year. There are several events planned in the local area that can help. On Wed., Feb. 7 BECA is holding a Scholarship Fair from 3-7 p.m. at the CSM Leonardtown Campus Auditorium. Later that evening, starting at 7 p.m., Tim Wolfe, Director of Financial Aid at St. Mary's College, will discuss financial aid at the Charlotte Hall Library (Registration is required, call 301-884-2211). Also, check the commuminity calendar for seminars on completing the Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) offered by So. Md. College Access Network (SOMD-CAN). Finally, we've compiled a guide to obtaining financial aid. It includes a list of local scholarships and other valuable information.

Whether you choose and cut your own tree or purchase it at a tree lot, there are things you can do to ensure your enjoyment of the tree during the holidays. Get a fresh tree, prevent it from drying out and be fire safe. Decorate and have a safe and happy holiday season!
