Serious Motor Vehicle Crash in Lusby


On April 12th, 2005 at 1:06 pm, Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriffs Office and Troopers from the Maryland State Police responded to Maryland Route 2/4 and Sweetwater Road in Lusby, Md. for a reported serious vehicle crash involving two large trucks.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Lee Industries truck, operated by Christopher P. Lee, 46 years old of Huntingtown, Md., was attempting to make left hand turn from Md Rt 2/4 to Sweetwater Rd. He failed to yield the right of way to an LTD Contracting Co. truck, operated by Robert L. Redmiles Jr., 38 years old of Odenton, Md.

The cabs of both trucks were destroyed and southbound Md. Rt. 2/4 had to be closed for approximately 4 hours. Trooper 7 transported Christopher Lee to Prince Georges County Shock Trauma where his condition is unknown. Robert Redmiles was transported Calvert Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Investigation in this case continues with charges pending.
