Waldorf Teen Crashes Dirt Bike Into Truck

On Aug. 12 at 3:22 p.m., a 2001 Dodge pick-up truck driven by Juan Garrido, 22, of Fairfax, Va., was towing a trailer in the 12700 block of Tommy Middleton Road in Waldorf when a 15-year-old Waldorf boy riding a dirt bike attempted to cross the road and struck the trailer. The boy was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway. He sustained incapacitating head injuries and was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George's Hospital Shock Trauma. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening. Officer C. Shaw is investigating.
