Burglar Nabbed Going Back a Second Time at Cafe des Artistes


On August 28th, 2005 at 3:41 am Law Enforcement Personnel responded to the Cafe De Artist Restaurant located in Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, Maryland for the reported Burglar Alarm. Officers discovered the business had been forcibly entered via the rooftop and a suspect was located hiding on the roof. The suspect was identified as 26 year old Robin Michael Goddard of Leonardtown, Maryland and was detained at the scene.

Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) responded and further investigated the incident. Evidence was recovered from inside the business which linked Goddard to the crime. Detectives searched a nearby residence locating additional evidence which linked Goddard to another Burglary at the same restaurant which occurred on August 25th, 2005.

Goddard was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center charged with two (2) counts of 2nd Degree Burglary; two (2) counts of Theft Under $500; and two (2) counts of Malicious Destruction of Property. He was also served with an active arrest warrant for Violation of Probation and is currently being held on No Bond.
