Big Cocaine Bust in Lexington Park


On November 5th, Patrol Officers responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle in a Lexington Park neighborhood. Upon arrival Officers located a 1997 Ford Expedition containing four subjects.

As Officers made contact with the driver and vehicle occupants, cocaine and related paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle. Additional officers responded and the driver, Thomas Lionel Wills, exited the vehicle while the front seat passenger fled on foot. Officers gave chase and encountered the front seat passenger, Tavoy Kelly Somerville, in an adjacent wooded area.

A struggle ensued and Suspect Somerville was arrested. Suspect Somerville discarded a quantity of cocaine as he fled and it was recovered. Cocaine was recovered from inside the vehicle as well as nearly $7,800.00 in cash. Suspects Wills and Somerville were charged with possession of cocaine, as were the two additional occupants, Joseph William Medley Jr. (47, of Lexington Park) and Russell Allen Randall (24, of Lexington Park).

The vehicle was seized and Members of BCI Narcotics Division obtained a Search and Seizure Warrant for an additional search. Hidden inside the vehicle was an additional quantity of cocaine with a street value of about $3,000.00. The suspects face additional charges pending a State’s Attorney’s Office case review.
