Teen Severely Injured in Waldorf Crash

On Nov. 10 at 5:47 p.m., a 2002 Dodge Dakota driven by Donald Ramby Ferguson, Jr., 20, of Waldorf, was traveling south on Acton Lane, east of Hamilton Road, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Dakota crossed the northbound lanes of Acton Lane, struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest in the roadway. The driver was not injured.

A passenger in the vehicle, Melissa Ann Dye, 19, of Waldorf, sustained severe injuries. She was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George's General Hospital, where her injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seatbelts.

Speed is considered a factor in the crash. Alcohol is not considered a factor.

Officer S. Stanley of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating the crash.
