Theft & Burglary in Charles County


THEFT: On Jan. 17 at 10:32 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Top Gun Exxon at 2890 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered suspect(s) used a rock to break the glass front door and gain entry into the business. The suspect(s) stole money and more than 150 packs of Newport Lights and Marlboro cigarettes and fled the scene. BURGLARY: Sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 2:55 p.m. Jan. 17, suspect(s) threw a brick through the basement door window of a residence in the 6900 block of Retirement Place in La Plata and forced entry into the residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a rifle, a gold Seiko woman's watch, a Raymond Wiel gold and stainless steel woman's watch and an assortment of collectible coins. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-2222. Cpl. R. Cadrette is investigating.
