New Information in Waldorf Murder-Suicide

The Charles County Sheriff's Office has identified the man involved in the murder-suicide on Feb. 22 as Marvin Charles Marshall, 24.

Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Rookewood Place at 6:32 p.m. on Feb. 22 for the report of a shooting. Investigation revealed Marshall shot Safiyah Yasmeen Rashid, 25, several times and then shot himself during a fight. The homeowner, a relative of Rashid's, notified police when he arrived home and discovered the shooting. Marshall and Rashid were dating and had been living in at the residence for several weeks.

Although Marshall had been living at the residence, he is originally from the Temple Hills area.

Det. C. Shankster is continuing the investigation.
