Two Dead in Auto Accident on Rousby Hall Road


On Monday, March 27 at 4:04 p.m. a 2001 Buick LeSabre operated by Walter Baker Powell, 85, of Lusby, was traveling southbound on Rt. 760 (Rousby Hall Road) in Lusby. The Buick struck the rear end of a 1992 Ford Box truck that was operated by Bobby Dean Ledford, 47, of Lusby, who was stopped in the southbound lane waiting to make a left turn onto Barrreda Blvd. The front passenger of the Buick, Angela Margaret Powell, 90, of Lusby, was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision. Mr. Powell was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and was later flown to Medstar, where he was pronounced dead. Mr. Ledford was uninjured in the collision. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.
