Drug Arrests in Charles County


POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On May 27 at 2:27 a.m., Officer R. Kimble conducted a traffic stop in the 90 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf. The officer detected a faint odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and found marijuana hidden in the glove box. Investigation revealed the marijuana belonged to the passenger, Norton James Sweet, III, 18, of Waldorf. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On May 26 at 7:57 p.m., Officer C. Wimberly responded to Billingsley Road and Cardinal Lane in White Plains for the report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed Christopher Bruce Sullivan, 26, of Indian Head was the operator of the vehicle. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on Sullivan’s breath and he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Sullivan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On May 20 at 12:39 a.m., Officer C. Wimberly conducted a traffic stop on a green Ford Taurus on Crain Highway at DeMarr Road in Waldorf. The vehicle which was being operated by Yolanda Mason, 41, of La Plata was traveling at a high rate of speed. Investigation revealed Mason’s driving privilege was suspended. She was arrested, at which time officers discovered suspected marijuana. Mason was charged with possession of marijuana and numerous other traffic charges to include driving under the influence.
