La Plata SeatBelt Checkpoint Results in 16 Citations


The Charles County Sheriff’s Office and La Plata Police Department joined forces May 24 from 7-9 p.m. to conduct a seatbelt checkpoint on Washington Avenue near Shining Willow Way. The officers checked northbound and southbound motorists. The Sheriff’s Office issued 13 seatbelt citations and five equipment repair orders. The La Plata police issued three seatbelt citations.
