Wreckless Handling of Motorcycle Leads to Rider's Death

On June 10 at 6:16 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 2700 block of Pinewood Drive in Waldorf for the report of a motorcycle crash. Investigation revealed a motorcycle being operated by Frank Bernard Slater, Jr., 38, of Washington, D.C., was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the left side of the road and struck a curb and a tree, ejecting Slater from the motorcycle. Slater was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

Officer R. Taylor of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
