ASSAULT: On June 11 at 12:03 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2800 block of Homette Place in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing. Investigation revealed a 15-year-old Waldorf boy was assaulted by the victim, Adam James Marshall, 24, of Waldorf. The boy called his father who arrived at the residence and he and the victim began fighting. When the victim began choking the boy’s father, the boy was in fear for his father’s life and stabbed Marshall in the leg. Mashall was transported to Civista Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Officer P. McPherson is investigating.

POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE: On June 9 at 6:30 p.m., Officer A. Schwab of the Charles County Sheriff Office conducted a traffic stop in the 13000 block of Shiloh Church Road in Newburg. Investigation revealed Robert Astoria Holton, 43, of Newburg was driving on a suspended license and was in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Holton is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On June 8 at 8:20 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 3075 Marshall Hall Road in Bryans Road for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed Juan Dana Newby, 39, of Washington, D.C., concealed skin and hair products in his pants. When Newby was confronted by a 49-year-old female employee, he pushed her and fled the store. He was found by officers a short time later in the wooded area near the store. Newby was arrested and found to be in possession of cocaine. He was charged with theft less than $500, second-degree assault and possession of cocaine and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer M. Smith investigated.

THEFT: One June 7 at 11:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Wal-Mart at 40 Drury Drive in La Plata for the report of a shoplifter. Investigation revealed a 14-year-old La Plata boy stole a bottle of BB gun pellets and audio CDs from the store. The items were returned to Wal-Mart and the boy was charged with theft under $500. He was released to the custody of his mother. Officer L. Payne investigated.

THEFT: On June 4 at approximately 2 p.m., Officer J. Timko of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sears at 11170 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Investigation revealed Jeffrey James Chase, 45, of Laurel, removed a Kitchen Aid mixer and a Kenmore coffee maker from their packaging and attempted to leave the store with the items. Loss prevention personnel detained Chase until police arrived. Chase was charged on a criminal citation with theft less than $500 and released.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between 3 p.m. June 3 and 7 a.m. June 4, suspect(s) shattered the rear window of a 1998 blue Ford ZX2 coupe parked at 11115 Mall Circle in Waldorf. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. Timko is investigating.
