Two Arrested for Home Grown Twenty Dollar Bills


On 07/05/2006 Senior Deputy First Class Eric Walker responded to the CVS Store in Leonardtown for the report of a female subject attempting to pass a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. The suspect had departed from the store before the officer arrived. A lookout was then placed for the suspect and a suspect vehicle.

Sdfc. Walker subsequently located the vehicle on Peninsular Drive in Hollywood. Upon entering the yard of the residence Sdfc. Walker observed a female subject in the back yard near an open fire burning suspected counterfeit bills. After making contact with the other resident, Sdfc. Walker observed two marijuana smoking devices in plain view on an entertainment center. Both occupants were placed under arrest.

A search warrant was obtained and executed for the residence. As a result of the investigation, thirty-one counterfeit twenty dollar bills were recovered along with a computer used to make the counterfeit bills and CDS Paraphernalia. Lois Doyle, age 30, and Lisa Latham, age 29 both of Hollywood were arrested, charged with 3 counts of Possession of Counterfeit Currency, Uttering False Document, Possession of Electronic Image of Currency. Both were incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
