Police Asking for Help Identifying Waldorf Shooter


LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff’s Office and Charles County Crime Solvers today asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a shooting which occurred in the parking lot of Village Square Shopping Center on Oct. 26. The Sheriff’s Office is releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Solvers, which is offering a reward.

The shooting occurred at 6:47 p.m. on Oct. 26. Officers responded to a parking lot in the 3600 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, and found the victim, a 34-year-old Waldorf/ Suitland man who had been shot multiple times. He was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George Hospital Center, where his condition is improving.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s and was wearing dark clothing. He was accompanied by a black female and they may have been operating a blue or dark-colored Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment. Anyone with information about this incident may contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS or Det. J. Elliott at 301-609-6515.
