Coastal Flood Warning in Effect Until Fri. Nov. 17


The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning that will remain in effect until 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2006. Moderate levels of coastal flooding should be expected during the high tides at 11:00 a.m. today and at 11:00 p.m. tonight. Water levels on the Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac are about one to one and a half feet above normal. Expect to see wind speeds from 20 to 25 MPH to the south, southeast with potential gusts up to 40 mph throughout today and tonight.

The St. Mary's County Department of Public Works has sandbags available for residents to pick up at the St Andrew's Landfill, located off Rt. 4 (St. Andrews Church Road) in California.
