Three Youth Arrested for Armed Robbery of NC Couple in Mechanicsville

LEONARDTOWN, Md. - According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, on December 21, 2006 officers investigated the report of an Armed Robbery of two people at a residence located in Mechanicsville, St. Mary's County, Md. The two victims, who are both residents of North Carolina, were visiting St. Mary's County for the holiday season.

According to police, after arriving at the residence, the victims were confronted by a male suspect with a handgun. Two other suspects assisted in robbing the victims. Personal property and an undisclosed amount of US Currency was stolen. The victims were able to flee the area in their vehicle unharmed. They later contacted authorities.

Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) confirmed the victims were robbed.

Police later executed a "Search and Seizure Warrant" at the suspect residence with the assistance of the Emergency Services Team (EST). The three suspects were located as well as evidence related to the armed robbery.

The suspects have been identified as twenty-year-old Jeremy Joseph Gilman of Mechanicsville; a fifteen-year-old juvenile female from Callaway, MD; and a seventeen-year-old male from Mechanicsville. The seventeen-year-old male was transported to the Detention Center and charged as an adult.
