LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Board of Education on Friday announced two administrative appointments made at its meeting of March 12.

The Board appointed Ms. Teresa Robinson to the position of coordinator of special education in the Department of Special Education. She joins the school system from Charles County Public Schools where she most recently served as an autism and behavior specialist. Robinson's experience also includes serving as an adjunct faculty member of Johns Hopkins University; a program director for Vocational Services, Inc., English and Comdray, Ltd., and United Cerebral Palsy; an instructional aide with the Salt Lake City Public Schools; and a sociology instructor with the University of South Carolina. She earned her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in sociology from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Michael Egan was named principal of Margaret Brent Middle School where he has served as acting principal since 2007. Egan joined the school system in 1993 as an adapted health and physical education teacher. Since that time, he has also served as a health and physical education department chairperson, mentor teacher, and assistant principal. Egan obtained his Master level degree in human resources development/educational leadership from Towson University, and his Bachelor level degree in health and physical education from Indiana University of PA.

These appointments become effective immediately.
