Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Nov. 17, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole a Stihl concrete saw and blade worth $1800 from outside a home on Bayview Ave in St. Leonard sometime on November 10. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Justin Livingston at 410-535-2800.

DOP: A victim advised DFC Richard Cox that unknown suspect(s) slashed his truck tires and a truck bed cover and then stole gas out of the tank. The damage is estimated at $1400. The destruction of property occurred between November 10 and 11 in front of a home on Long Leaf Lane in Dunkirk. DFC Cox will continue the investigation.

BURGLARY: Dep. Justin Livingston investigated a burglary to a home that was committed sometime on November 11 on North Ave in Port Republic. The homeowner advised that a Game Cube worth $80 was taken. Dep. Livingston is continuing the investigation.

BURGLARY: A homeowner advised Dep. Mark Fitzgerald that her home on Evergreen Road in St. Leonard was burglarized between November 12 and 13. The unknown suspect(s) stole over $1000 worth of property, to include a Playstation 2, an Olevia 26 inch television, a Nintendo Game Cube and numerous Xbox games and Playstation 2 games. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Fitzgerald at 410-535-2800.

BURGLARY: A home on West Mt. Harmony Road in Owings was burglarized on November 14 between about 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. The culprit(s) did $1000 worth of damage to the home but nothing appears to have been taken. Dep. Roscoe Kreps is continuing the investigation.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Cpl. Gary Shrawder conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at St. Leonard Road and Woods Road in St. Leonard on November 14 at 9:07 p.m. The driver, later identified as Brett A. Snyder, 24 of St. Leonard, was found to be in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. A passenger, later identified as Sarah V. Norwood, 26 of Prince Frederick, was also found to be in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Both Snyder and Norwood were arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic syringe and clear zip bags used to store heroin.

THEFT FROM AUTO: A $250 Global Positioning System unit was stolen from inside a vehicle while it was parked, unlocked, in front of a home on C Street in Chesapeake Beach between 6:30 p.m. November 14 and 11:30 a.m. November 15. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl. Thomas Phelps at 410-535-2800.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Bay Ave and 3rd Street in Chesapeake Beach on November 15 shortly after midnight, Dep. Robert Traas subsequently arrested the driver, later identified as Gerald Antonio Gray, Jr., 18 of Prince Frederick, and charged him with possession of marijuana. A passenger in the vehicle, a sixteen-year-old male from Prince Frederick, was charged with possession of marijuana on a youth report and released to a parent.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: DFC John McCarroll made a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Fastop in Chesapeake Beach on November 16 at 1:16 a.m. The driver, later identified as Anna Lee Silver, 53 of Clinton, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a metal pipe.
