Calvert Schools Return to Normal

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 11, 2009)—Schools in southern Calvert County have returned to normal operation after a brief lockdown due to an armed robbery of a woman in the Olivet and Joy Lee Road area in Lusby this morning.

Calvert police say an unknown black male, wearing a heavy coat and a red bandana over his face, approached the woman this morning at gunpoint and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Calvert County Public School officials say all schools have discontinued partial lockdown at the recommendation of law enforcement, but continue to be vigilant. All school transportation will run on a normal schedule.

The Calvert County Sheriff's Office says they are continuing their investigation into the reported robbery.
