MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 30, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, July 27 at 5:10 pm, Michael Wayne Watson, 50, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC M. B. Adams on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14036) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 14. The original charges were Driving on a Suspended and Revoked Drivers License and Driving without a License. Mr. Watson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE: On Monday, July 27 at 6:41 pm, Lawrence Alvin Hoffman, 43, of Callaway was arrested by Cpl. M. W. Laney for 1st Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Cpl. Laney responded to the parking lot of the Brass Rail and made contact with the female complainant, 44, of Lexington Park. She advised that Mr. Hoffman rammed her vehicle as she was leaving a residence in Great Mills. She was able to maintain control of her vehicle and she stopped at the Brass Rail to wait on police. Mr. Hoffman continued north on Point Lookout Road and drove to a residence in the Callaway area. After speaking with the complainant, Cpl. Laney responded to the residence where Mr. Hoffman was located on Piney Point Road in Callaway. Mr. Hoffman was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 5:42 am, Joseph Michael Fitzpatrick, 44, of Annapolis was arrested by Tpr. W. S. Jefferson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13950) for Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation. The original charge was for Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Fitzpatrick turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack. He was taken into custody and transported to the St Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held pending an initial appearance in District Court.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 8:06 am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson responded to the 21000 block of Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park for the reported Theft over $500 and Malicious Destruction of Property. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 21, of Lexington Park who advised between 11:00 pm, July 27 and 8:00 am, July 28 unknown suspect(s) broke out the passenger side window of his black 1995 Honda Civic. After breaking out the window, the suspect(s) took the complainant's drivers license, registration card, IPod Touch and a Samsung Instinct cellular telephone from the glove box of the Honda. Estimated damage to the vehicle is $50.00. The IPod touch was valued at $250.00 and the Samsung Instinct Cellular telephone was valued at $450.00. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28, Paul Anthony Pitner, 25, of Hollywood was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on a Grand Jury Indictment (T3-14054) issued by the Circuit Court in Leonardtown on July 24. The original charge on the Indictment was Burglary 2nd Degree. Mr. Pitner was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held on related charges. Mr. Pitner will be held pending his initial appearance before the court.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 11:20 am, Gary Wayne Morris, 20, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on a Grand Jury Indictment (T3-14056) issued by the Circuit Court in Leonardtown on July 24. The original charge on the Indictment was Burglary 1st Degree. Mr. Morris was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held on related charges. Mr. Morris will be held pending his initial appearance before the court.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 11:03 pm, Ryan Patrick Mirfield, 29, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC R. B. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14004) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 19. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Mirfield was taken into custody at his residence and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 12:23 pm, Nicholas Walter Bond, 20, of Dameron was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on a Grand Jury Indictment (T3-14057) issued by the Circuit Court in Leonardtown on July 24. The original charge on the Indictment was Burglary 1st Degree. Mr. Bond was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held on related charges. Mr. Bond will be held pending his initial appearance before the court.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 28, James Perry Bond, 18, of Dameron was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on a Grand Jury Indictment (T3-14058) issued by the Circuit Court in Leonardtown on July 24. The original charge was Burglary 1st Degree. Mr. Bond was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held pending his appearance before the court.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Tuesday, July 28 at 6:00 pm, Tpr. B. Wiesemann responded to the corner of Ranger Road and North Essex Drive in Lexington Park for the reported Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 40, of Lexington Park who advised Kevin Eugene Kestenis, 51, of Lexington Park assaulted her with an axe handle. Mr. Kestenis was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
