LA PLATA, Md. (Aug. 5, 2009) - The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On August 4 at 12:01 a.m., officers responded to the area of Arbor Lane and Woodberry Drive in Bryans Road for the report of a strong-arm robbery. Investigation revealed the victim - a 17-year-old male - was walking home when a tan colored Dodge pulled up. Four occupants wearing ski masks exited the vehicle, assaulted the victim and stole his cell phone and cash. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (301) 932-2222. Officer M. O'Shields is investigating.

ASSAULT: On August 3 at 3:12 a.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of Rhodes Drive in White Plains for the report of an assault. The suspect, William Eugene Frye, III, 51, of La Plata, broke into a former girlfriend's house where he hit and choked her. Officers obtained a warrant, located the suspect and arrested him. Frye was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, trespassing and burglary. Officer K. Lerch investigated.

THEFT: On August 2 at 6:45 a.m., officers responded to Waldorf Chrysler Plymouth at 11755 Business Park Drive in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect removed two tires from two different cars - which were parked in the parking lot - and stole the brake assemblies. The tires were recovered in the lot. Officer J. Foster is investigating.

CHILD ABUSE FUGITIVE ARRESTED: On July 31, the Charles County Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit developed information about the whereabouts of Bobbie Lee Garrett, 41, of Waldorf, who was wanted in Charles County for child abuse and 14 other related charges.
