LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 27, 2009) -- An early morning search for a missing Mechanicsville teen, who was reportedly armed with several weapons, ended when police discovered the boy deceased in a parked vehicle in Avenue. The sheriff's office says patrol units responded to a Mechanicsville residence around 5:24 a.m. Tuesday morning in response to a report of the missing youth. Police broadcast a lookout for the juvenile who was believed to be operating a red Dodge truck.

Maryland State Police later spotted the vehicle being operated by the juvenile on Colton's Point Rd. The teen was able to elude police.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., a citizen contacted the sheriff's office and advised the vehicle was observed at the end of Old Trapp Road in Avenue. Police responded and observed the vehicle parked near a gate at the end of a dirt lane.

Police, apparently taking no chances, secured the area -- notifying nearby residents and school officials to take necessary security actions.

Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded with their armored vehicle "Bear Cat" which was deployed by members of the Calvert County Special Operations Team, St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Team and Critical Incident Negotiations Team who approached the vehicle and discovered the juvenile deceased.

The name of teen has not yet been released.
