MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (Nov. 3, 2009) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTION ORDER: On October 1, at approximately 1011 hours, TFC S. Murphy was on patrol on Central Avenue in the area of U.S. Route 301, when he stopped a red Chevrolet Cobalt for a reported altercation between the occupants. TFC Murphy made contact with Michael Alfonso Cannon, age 21, of Waldorf, who advised he had an argument with his child’s mother. A check through MILES/NCIC revealed Cannon was the respondent in a Final Protection Order. Cannon was arrested for fail to comply with an Order of Court dated 5/28/2009.

DUI, ILLEGAL DRUGS, REVOKED LICENSE: On October 9, at approximately 0210 hours, TFC J. Wilson was traveling southbound Crain Highway at Charles Street when he observed a brown Ford Crown Victoria with expired tags. TFC Wilson made contact with Justine Cordarol Tate, 21, of Colonial Beach, VA. Cpl. R. Cuyler and his K-9 arrive at the scene and scanned the vehicle. The K-9 gave a positive alert. Tate was arrested and charged with DUI, Possession of CDS and Paraphernalia, and for driving on a revoked out of state license.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On October 28, at approximately 1633 hours Trooper A. Watson was on routine patrol traveling northbound U.S. Route 301, south of Acton Lane, when he observed a black Toyota Celica displaying expired tags. Trooper Watson stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver and occupants of the vehicle when he detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Desiree Angel Osvatics, age 18, of Leonardtown, was charged with possession of marijuana.
