LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 5, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY & THEFT UNDER $1,000: On Monday, November 2 at 10:37 am, Tpr. M. J. Pitcher responded to the 24000 block of Maypole Road in Leonardtown for the reported Theft under $1,000.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 50, of Leonardtown who advised between October 29 and October 30, unknown suspect(s) entered the barn and stole a car battery, fan belt, two tires (185x65x14) and a lower engine pulley. Total loss of property estimated at $330.00. The suspect(s) also damaged the hood on the green 1997 Honda Civic and the OEM Honda radio unit, total damage is $190.00. Neighborhood checks were conducted with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Tuesday, November 3 at 11:53 am, TFC C. M. Evans responded to the Great Mills Post Office in the 20000 block of Point Lookout Road in Great Mills for the reported Malicious Destruction of a mailbox. Contact was made with the female employees of the Post Office who advised unknown suspect(s) damaged a mailbox by drilling out the lock and removing the door from its hinges. Estimated damage to the mailbox is $100.00 and the incident is still under investigation.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, November 3 at 7:31 pm, Darien Marcel Bush, 22, of Lexington Park was served an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13735) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on December 4, 2008. The original charges were Theft over $500.00 and Fraud/Identity Theft. The warrant was served by TFC M. A. Moore at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges. Tpr. J. S. Gibson served Mr. Bush an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13705) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on November 10, 2008. The original charges were Burglary 2nd Degree and Theft over $500.00. Mr. Bush was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
