MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Feb. 26, 2009) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

COUNTERFEIT CHECK: On February 17 at 8:50 a.m., Trooper Parker responded to the Two & Four Liquors in Sunderland for a report of check fraud. Investigation revealed that a female came into the store to cash a check from a college in Massachusetts. The owner advised she accepted the check because the suspect had supporting documentation from the college. It was later established that the check was fraudulent. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410)535-1400.

THEFT: On February 17 at 5:00 p.m., Trooper First Class Bowling responded to the area of Rt. 4 and Chaney Rd in Dunkirk for a reported motor vehicle collision. When making contact with the driver, Robert E. Parrish, 20 of Huntingtown, a street sign was observed behind the driver's seat. Investigation revealed that Parrish had stolen the street sign. The street sign has been returned to the Calvert County Highway Dept. Charges are pending.

THEFT: On February 18 at 2:25 p.m., Trooper Lewis responded to the Blockbuster Video in Dunkirk for a reported theft of Blu-Ray DVD's. The store manager advised 3 suspects had entered the store with a baby stroller. One of the suspects became aggressive with a store employee. When the employee went to get the manager, two of the suspects quickly left the store and drove away in a late model red Dodge or Plymouth minivan toward Ferry Landing Road and the other suspect ran towards Ward Rd. After they had left, the manager and employee found 66 various Blu-Ray DVD's missing from the shelves. The surveillance tapes are being reviewed for possible suspect identification. THEFT: On February 19 at 4:20 p.m., Trooper Lewis responded to the 1000 block of Stephen Reid Rd. in Huntingtown for a reported theft. A digital camera and house keys were stolen from the victim's vehicle. Investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (401)535-1400.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On February 20, 2009 at 12:00am, Corporal White stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 2 at Pushaw Station Rd in Sunderland. Upon approaching the vehicle, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana. The driver, Chloe J. Collins, 21 of Huntingtown, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTOR VEHICLE: On February 21, 2009 at 3:00 a.m., Trooper Haut responded to the 1200 block of Gowan Court in Pr. Frederick, for a reported unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle reported leaving the vehicle with a friend to do repair work. She then discovered that someone took the vehicle for use without her permission. The vehicle has since been returned to the victim. The case remains open pending charges.

TRESPASSING: On February 24, 2009 at 6:30 p.m., Trooper First Class Wiersma responded to Calvert Memorial Hospital in reference to an individual trespassing and disturbing the peace. William J. Gray, 49 of Owings, was intoxicated and bothering patrons of the hospital. Gray was arrested and charged with trespassing. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.
