MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 13, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 4:20 pm, Steven Wesley Gingery Jr., 24, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13880) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 2, 2009. The original charges were Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana, DWI/DUI and Driving on a Revoked License. Mr. Gingery turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:35 pm, Michelle Sinlao, 24, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. Stern on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13867) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on March 17, 2009. The original charges are Passing Bad Checks over $500. Ms. Sinlao was taken into custody in Mechanicsville and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT: On Friday, April 10, 2009 at 7:33 pm, TFC R. Rezza and Tpr. R. Jackson responded to the Chaptico Market in the 25000 block of Maddox Road in Chaptico for the reported Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the store manager, 70, of Chaptico, who advised the suspect, Harry Elsworth Washington, 51, of Upper Marlboro stole an energy drink and assaulted an employee as he left the store. Mr. Washington was located walking in the area. Mr. Washington was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 9:30 am, Andrew Steven Ratliff, 26, of California was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13885) for Failing to Appear in District Court on April 3, 2009. The original charges were traffic related. Mr. Ratliff was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 12:45 pm Charles Arnett Weaver Jr., 20, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13843) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on February 28, 2009. The original charges were four counts each Possession of Forged Currency and Theft under $500 and one count of Theft Scheme. Mr. Weaver was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

DUI, HANDGUN VIOLATION: On Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 6:31 pm, Travis Lajuane Moody, 22, of Baltimore was operating a gold Buick Roadmaster on Piney Point Road when he was stopped by Tpr. J. Gibson at Driftwood Lane in Piney Point for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with Mr. Moody, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Moody was subsequently arrested for DWI/DUI and placed under arrest. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Moody was in possession of Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun with 47 rounds for the handgun. Mr. Moody was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 7:14 pm, Tpr. J. Hardesty responded to the Belk Department Store for the reported theft in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the Loss Prevention Officer, who advised [**Redeacted] was being detained for Theft under $100.00. [Redacted] was taken into custody for Theft under $100.00. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

** 26-JAN-2016: Accused's name redacted as a courtesy as the charges were dropped and the court order the case expunged from the official records.

FUGITIVE OTHER AREA: On Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 7:45 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to the 46000 block of Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, TFC Evans made contact with the female complainant, who advised Tony Andrew Hazel, 22, of Lexington Park was intoxicated and out of control. A routine check through NCIC revealed Mr. Hazel had an outstanding arrest warrant through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Hazel was taken into custody and turned over to deputies on the scene where he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
