MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 20, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 4:00 pm, Tpr. N. Gresko responded to the Park and Ride in rear parking lot of Burger King in Charlotte Hall for the reported Theft under $100.00. Contact was made with the male complainant, 51, of Callaway who advised unknown suspect(s) removed the front registration plate from his 2002 Dodge Dakota between the hours of 3:30 am - 4:00 pm on April 15, 2009. The Maryland registration plate has been entered into NCIC and the investigation is continuing.

DUI AND DRUG ARREST: On Friday, April 17, 2009 at 12:39 am, Kristina Marie Chaney, 20, of Avenue and Andrew James Mills, 21, of Mechanicsville were arrested by Tpr. J. Pilkerton for Driving under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Mills was operating a black Honda Accord on east bound Mechanicsville Road when he was stopped at Old Village Road in Mechanicsville for a route traffic violation. Contact was made with Mr. Mills and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Mills was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI. Mr. Mills was found to be in possession of a small plastic baggie of Marijuana. The passenger, Ms. Chaney was found to be in possession of a multi-colored glass CDS smoking device with Marijuana. Both individuals were transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where Mr. Mills was processed for DUI. Mr. Mills and Ms. Chaney were transported to the St Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICES: On Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 1:45 pm, Clayton Aloysius Smith, 27, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. J. Hardesty on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13896) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 10, 2009. Mr. Smith turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICES: On Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 8:58 am, Elston Howe Harvey, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC D. Brill on an Arrest Warrant (T3-13851) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on March 5, 2009. The original charge was Theft under $100.00. Mr. Harvey was taken into custody at his residence in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICES: On Saturday, April 18, 2009, Brandon Alexander Morris, 22, of Lexington Park was apprehended, taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he is being held pending his court appearance. The following warrants were served as listed below:

-- A Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in La Plata on January 22, 2009. The original charges were Driving on a Suspended and Revoked Driver's License served by Tpr. J. Gibson.

-- A Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in La Plata on April 30, 2008. The original charges were Theft over $500.00, Issue False Document and Forgery served TFC E. Evans.

-- A Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Upper Marlboro on June 2, 2008. The original charges were Driving on a Suspended and Revoked Driver's License served by Tpr. G. Thompson.

-- An Arrest Warrant issued by the District Court in Upper Marlboro on January 14, 2009. The original charges were Theft over $500.00, Issue False Documents and Forgery served by Tpr. G. Thompson.

-- A Bench Warrant for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $57.50 to the District Court in Leonardtown prior May 12, 2008 served by TFC D. Brill.

-- An Arrest Warrant issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on April 18, 2009. The original charges were providing a False Statement to a Police Officer. Possess and Use False Gov't ID and Fraudulently Use the Identity to Avoid Prosecution served by Tpr. G. Thompson.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 7:41 pm, James C. Morgan, 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13905) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 16, 2009. The original charge was Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Morgan was served the warrant at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
