MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 11, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, May 9, at 9:10 am, Lisa Leanna Fenwick, 48, of Bushwood was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-13939) for failing to appear in District Court in Prince Frederick on April 29, 2009. The original charges were Driving on a Suspended License and Driving Uninsured Vehicle. She was taken into custody at her residence in Bushwood and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, May 10, at 2:27 am, Hugh Howard Heiss, 3rd, 18, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of marijuana. Mr. Heiss was a passenger in a black Nissan Altima, a suspicious vehicle which was parked along side of Village Liquors located in the 25000 block of Maddox Road in Chaptico. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. Mr. Heiss was found to be in possession of a metal CDS smoking device with Marijuana. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Sunday, May 10, at 5:34 am, Tpr. N. Gresko responded to the 17000 block of 2nd Street in Tall Timbers for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 26, of Tall Timbers. She advised she was assaulted by Ernest Lee Smalley, Jr., 26, of Tall Timbers. As Tpr. Gresko was leaving the residence, he observed Mr. Smalley operating a green Ford Thunderbird and a traffic stop was initiated on Piney Point Road at St. Georges Park Road. Contact was made with Mr. Smalley and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. He was arrested for DUI and subsequently charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Sunday, May 10, at 5:45 pm, William Earl Jones, 3rd, 30, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. M. Koock for assault 2nd degree. The male victim, 80, of Hollywood responded to the Leonardtown Barrack to report that he had been assaulted by the suspect, Jones. Tpr. Koock and TFC Fleetwood responded to the residence in the 25000 block of Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood. Mr. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
