Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 22, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of March 15 through 21, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,919 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 11 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between 7:25 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. on March 15, unknown suspect(s) partially deflated four tires on a vehicle outside a home on Virginia Ave in Prince Frederick. Dep. Nathan Funchion is investigating.

WEAPON VIOLATION: DFC Kevin Hall responded to the Twin Beach Convenience Store on Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach on March 18 at 9:45 p.m. for the report of an intoxicated subject. DFC Hall made contact with the subject and advised him to leave the premises. The subject started to leave then stopped and when advised again to continue on, he pulled a large kitchen knife from a book bag on his back. The subject was advised three times to drop the knife before he did. He was taken into custody. Teshawn L. Campbell, 24 of North Beach, was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and public intoxication.

THEFT: One thousand dollars in scrap metal was stolen from a private residence on Cox Road in Huntingtown between March 18 and 19. DFC Kevin Hall is investigating the theft.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A large projection light at the Burnt Oaks Apartment complex on Sea Maid Court in North Beach suffered $250 in damage between March 17 and 19. Dep. Jeffrey Hardesty is investigating.

FALSE STATEMENT AND FLEEING AND ELUDING: Dep. Christopher Waldron conducted a traffic stop on Skinners Turn Road in Owings on March 21 at 6:23 p.m. The driver pulled into a driveway and jumped out of the drivers' seat, running across Md. Rt. 2 toward the wooded area of Mt. Harmony Lane. A female passenger in the vehicle jumped into the driver's seat and then exited the vehicle. Dep. Waldron advised the female to remain there and then gave chase on foot after the driver. Dep. Aundrea Lawton arrived to assist and the officers observed the suspect lying in the dirt in the woods and approached him. The subject advised that he was not driving the vehicle. Identified as Corey Cornell Contee, 39 of Lusby, he was arrested and charged with making a false statement to a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding and various traffic citations. A lookout was given for the female and vehicle which was later seen on Md. Rt. 4 and Md. Rt. 231 in Prince Frederick by DFC David Denton who stopped it. The female, identified as Cheryl M. Harmon, 21 of Port Republic, was arrested and charged with making a false statement to a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice as well as fleeing and eluding.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC Daniel Deakins approached a suspicious subject on March 21 at 9:41 p.m. in the alley behind the Dunkirk Town Square shopping center. The subject, later identified as Percylee Russell Oursler, 19 of North Beach, had a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from him. He was found to have suspected marijuana on him and was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a wooden smoking pipe.
