PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 24, 2010)—Sheriff Mike Evans recently recognized the efforts of the Junior Ladies of Charity of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in North Beach. Every year these young ladies, ranging in ages from 12 to 18, take the time to bake cookies and deliver them to the Sheriff's Office for the deputies working through the holidays.

"We very much appreciate and value our partnership with the community," said Sheriff Evans. "These young ladies really set the example for everyone to follow and I can't thank them enough."

The Junior Ladies of Charity also give of their time throughout the year to hold birthday parties for the elderly living in senior centers, holding fund raisers for animal welfare organizations and other charitable events.
